Ratilly Castle
Built in the 13th century on the foundations of an 11th-century fortress
Ratilly rises with its medieval architecture in the heart of Puisaye, amid unspoilt countryside.
During the Wars of Religion, the castle sheltered Huguenots and later welcomed persecuted Jansenists
at the beginning of the 18th century.
A castle dedicated to the arts and to music
In 1951, Jeanne and Norbert Pierlot set up their pottery workshop here and, through artistic encounters,
turned Ratilly into one of the very first arts centres in France — a place for exchange and creative expression.
